My first blog - Why I'm here

So for those of you that don't know me, I've been an 'active' member of the blogosphere and Web 2.0 for about a year and half now. I have about 15-20 marketing blogs I follow religiously and have learned a great deal from, but every once in awhile, I'll read something and say to myself, "Gee, you're right... but..."

I'm starting this blog as a way for me to present my ideas, keep track of the campaigns I love (and hate), and basically become a more active contributing member of Web 2.0. I'll be the first to admit I don't know everything there is to know about marketing, but I hope to share, educate, and entertain others the things I do know and the things that intrigue me.

For me, marketing has always represented the perfect blend of the two things I love - creativity and analytics. Now to the uneducated, one might say - what on earth is the connection between the those two polar opposites? Well the answer is quite simple - Marketing is driven by numbers. As fun, creative, and quirky as this profession may be, besides our gut instincts, we have to and will always rely on the numbers. Numbers don't lie. The analytics of marketing is our guiding principle - if not followed, nutured, and maintained properly - our campaigns will fail.

I hope that gives you a deeper look into why I'm here and what leads my though process. If you ever have any questions, comments, or would like to speak more in depth about a post, don't be a stranger.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll check back soon!
